MGMMC is located on A.B. Road near Maharaja Yashwantrao Hospital in Indore. The college was opened in 1948. The teaching hospital is a 1200- bedd 7-storied hospital which includes all clinical and paraclinical departments. The subspecialities - cardiology, neurology, nephrology, gastroenterology, hematology, endocrinology are under the parent medicine department. The other speciality clinics include diabetic, thyroid, rheumatology and immunology, epilepsy, headache, laser treatment and pulmonology.The department has an 18 bed MICU and a 10 bed ICCU. The hospital has SICU, NICU, PICU, and burns unit.
The surgical superspeciality includes neurosurgery, urosurgery and pediatric surgery. MGMMC also has other teaching institutions like Chacha Nehru Childrens Hospital (300 beds), cancer hospital (100 beds), Manorame Raje TB Hospital (100 beds), mental hospital,and the Kalyan Nursing Home.
The medicine dept. has hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis units, endoscopy unit, and RHD registry. MYH has round the clock CT, MRI,and SPECT facilities.There is a BSc nursing college and a government dental college inside the campus.

MGMMC is a residential college where the faculty members, staff and students live on the main campus. There are three hostels for men undergraduate and postgraduate students and three hostels available for women undergraduate and postgraduate students. There are separate hostel facilities for dental and nursing students.
